内容摘要：

This article designs a quasi-natural experiment based on the new asset management regulation to examine the impact of strict financial regulation on corporate labor costs, using a sample of A-share listed companies from 2007 to 2023. It is found that strict financial regulation significantly reduces corporate labor costs after the implementation of the new asset management regulation. The results of mechanism analysis show that strict financial regulation reduces corporate labor costs mainly through three channels: reducing corporate risk-taking level, relaxing corporate financing constraints and compressing corporate financial investment. Heterogeneity analysis finds that the curtailment effect of strict financial regulation on corporate labor costs is greater among non-state-owned enterprises, high-tech enterprises, high-transparency enterprises, and enterprises whose executives have financial backgrounds. Extensive analysis shows that strict financial regulation improves corporate job creation capacity and narrows the wage gap within corporate. This article provides theoretical basis and decision-making reference for promoting high-quality full employment from the perspective of financial regulation.
